Avocados might be at the top of nature’s healthiest fruits. Not only are avocados healthy, but they’re delicious, versatile, and inexpensive. What more could you ask for?

Avocados

They are an oily fruit grown on medium-sized evergreen trees in milder climates of many countries. Mexico produces 30% of the commercially grown avocados consumed worldwide.

Avocados are a popular food that can be consumed without prior preparation, and be used in many recipes. The entire avocado is edible, including the rind and seed.

Avocados are an unusual fruit due to the oily content of its “meat,” up to 20% by weight depending on the avocado variety. It is also an excellent source of fiber as well, up to 25% by weight.

A Super-Fruit indeed:
Not only are avocados full of nutrients with far-reaching health benefits, they’re tasty and easily added to almost any dish."

Not just delicious but nutritious as well:

“Avocado is one of the most nutrient-dense foods available. Ounce for ounce, it is among the richest in (life-extending) fiber, folate, potassium, vitamin E, and magnesium. Not only are avocados full of nutrients with far-reaching health benefits, they’re tasty and easily added to almost any dish.”

Foods for longevity:
Gastrointestinal health:

First, avocados are easily digestible and travel smoothly through your GI system. The high-fat content of avocados, plus their high fiber levels, aid in nutrient absorption and peristalsis in your colon. This is a crucial benefit to your overall health and longevity. Regular and healthy bowel movements are life-extenders in many ways.

Cardiovascular health:

Second, the cholesterol-controlling abilities of avocados help keep arteries clean and improve their elasticity, allowing better blood pressure regulation and circulation. Also, high potassium levels in avocados aid with blood pressure control.

Skin elasticity:

Third, the vitamin E in Avocados modulates free radical damage in your skin, and the natural oils in the fruit help keep the elasticity of skin vibrant and soft.

Weight control:

Fourth, although these fruits have a high fat and calorie content, they are a useful dietary aid for controlling weight. Their high-fat content provides calories that digest slowly, and therefore add to the feeling of fullness. The fruit’s high fiber content adds to the feeling of fullness as well.

And Much More:

Avocados have numerous other health advantages, but the excellent thing about these benefits is that they come in a delicious, versatile, and easy-to-eat package. And by the way, the whole fruit is edible and very nutritious (see note below).

Avocado peels and seeds are edible by humans and are available in a powdered form for inclusion in smoothies, teas, soups, and baked goods like muffins, breads, and cookies. I use these powders a lot, and here’s my favorite.

I’m almost done, but there is so much more to say about these wonderful fruits; I must add this remarkable fact. Refined avocado oil is an excellent cooking oil with a higher smoke point than all other cooking oils that are liquids at room temperature. This makes avocado oil ideal for frying, browning, and broiling.

Now, having said all that, just because I use these foods as I do, does not mean you should. Read the materials I’ve provided in this article and decide what is in your best interests.

[Note: Persin, a natural fungicide in avocados is harmful to some animals but safe for humans. Do not feed avocados or any avocado by-products to your pets.]

The final touch:

Avacado oil does wonders for one’s skin. This could warrant an entire article itself. Avocado oil has many uses in the hair care and cosmetics industry. When using this oil for your skin or hair, buy a highly refined product like this legendary oil.

Avocados are truly amazing.
