A PLANNED LONGEVITY™ INTRODUCTION

50 years of good health, despite ourselves, is what most of us get. And it’s free. Yes, there are many exceptions here. There are many ways to fall ill, be born with a potentially fatal health issue, or get killed in an accident or a war. This happens.

But the truth is that most of us will make it to 50 years of age before the Reaper gets his hands on us. After 50, the free warranty expires, and things start happening – most of these things aren’t good. Some are downright dangerous and can deliver us to the Reaper in the blink of an eye.

It can happen.

When you get a second, look up the Widow Maker – one of the Reaper’s favorites. It’s quick, extremely lethal, and he’s rarely disappointed. Still, even with numerous widow-maker-style threats out there, we usually beat the Reaper till we hit 50.

Now let’s get philosophical:

We humans, in all our iterations, somehow got here on Planet Earth. This we can agree on. We can’t agree, however, on how we got here, why, and exactly when. Some of us think that we evolved to where we are through a series of mistakes and successes, which led us to the current version of humanity.

Others think that we were created by a God-like entity who had the power to create not only us but the universe and everything in it. These two camps and some “in-betweeners” can’t come to an agreement and probably never will.

So as the creator of OMYism, I’m going to declare that I will use the word creator with a small “c” to refer to whomever or whatever got us to where we are. Note that I do not write about religion or politics, but I need a word here when I make a reference to a creation-like experience.

So creator it is, and I’m also going to use the word “him” when necessary and convenient. (Granting that we don’t know the creator’s sex – which for our purposes doesn’t matter anyway.)

Ok, how about your free 50-year health warranty?

Well, let’s first understand that the most important job of humans, without exception, and above anything else, is to reproduce themselves. If this doesn’t happen, then nothing else matters. This is why the urge to mate is one of our strongest motivators, right up there with food, clothing, and shelter.

So to replace ourselves in the US, and probably in most modern nations, each female must have 2.1 babies. This is to stay even, not grow. Population growth would take a birth rate higher than this. Right now, birth rates in the US are below this mark which means our population is shrinking.

Ironically, this happens in good times, and the opposite happens in bad times. Post WW1 and Spanish Flu decades contained high growth years. This bleak period was a very difficult time for the human race in general, and to make things worse, it was followed by the Great Depression and WWII. Still, by and large, the population grew.

So how about shrinking?

Short of a nuclear war and some crazy fool designing a virus that kills half the world’s population (both of these can happen), there will be “adjustmental” population shrinkage from time to time.

For example, during times of high inflation and rising costs, people are less likely to have an “extra” child. This is just common sense. The current (USA) cost of bearing and rearing a child through high school is over $300,000.00 and rising.

Thinking about this can really ruin your mood to mate and dampen the whole idea of makin’ and raisin’ babies. Also, after-the-fact choice, aka abortion, plays a role here as well. Maybe more than most people realize.

To put it bluntly, aborting a future female removes not only her but 2.1 future babies. So the population depressing effects of abortion must be considered. Even though this is a touchy subject, its effects on population growth are significant and must be folded into population growth studies.

OK, we swerved a little off course, but we’re talking about your 50 year health warranty which, as you’ll see, has a lot to do with birthing and rearing children – thus the previous discussion. So now let’s get back on course.

Although this is a moving target, the average age of a first-time mother in the US is 26.4 years. Further, if she has her quota of 2 or more babies, we can probably say that these will be separated by two years. So the baby-making time is the mother’s first baby age plus two years. This means that the time between the mother’s birth and the birth of her children is 26.4 + 2 = 28.4 years.

With me so far?

Now, the children must go through school and reach the self-survival stage to prepare them for makin’ and rasin’ their own babies. This is high school 18 years and a couple more years of finding employment that will sustain them. So that’s 20 years. (This does not include higher education which is irrelevant to this discussion,)

So in 28 + 20 = 48 years, little Elmer and little Elsie can start making their own babies (hopefully not with each other). To keep this simple, let’s say that the birth to self-sufficiency time in the US is 50 years (give or take a few), and it’s likely similar everywhere else.

You can probably see where I’m going with this.

Notice the time similarity between your 50 Year health warranty and the birth to self-survival period?

One can’t help but wonder if the creator built us to stay healthy long enough to make replacements for ourselves, and after that, we’re on our own. The highest priority job of humanity – self-replacement – is done (for most of us, anyway) at or around the age of fifty.

After 50 years, the creator doesn’t need us anymore, so one by one, our parts begin to fail. Our creator engineered us that way, like a washing machine with a 10-year warranty. It mysteriously starts needing parts and service shortly after the ten-year mark.

This is no accident, my OMY friend. This is by design. You’re good for 50 years because you were designed (or you evolved) to be that way. After 50 years, troubles begin, and your parts’ functionality starts withering away.

So what do you do now?

Well, here’s the good news. When your parts start to fail, this doesn’t happen all of a sudden. In fact, it starts slowly, often with no warning. It’s a slow-drip kind of thing. You don’t suddenly have kidney failure or heart failure. No, these things happen over time.

And here’s even better news, you can intervene and make these parts last longer. Yeah, they’re still gonna wear out, but with the right guidance, you might get an extra ten years out of them – maybe even more.

Here’s the problem, though, you need tools to do this. You can no longer cruise along with your pre 50 lifestyle. You gotta change and adapt. Poor lifestyle is your worst enemy, but you can turn that lifestyle into your best friend.

With a post-warranty add-on.

Yes, you can turn bad lifestyles around, but you need the right tools:

That’s what my Planned Longevity™ Master Toolbox is for. Let me explain with an analogy:

When I was growing up, my grandfather had an old pickup truck that he nursed along until it had 200,000+ miles on it. That kind of mileage was unheard of in those days. But my grandfather was a master mechanic that had a very deep understanding of auto design and maintenance.

Here’s the point. Your body is like that old pickup. You can get a lot more miles out of it with the right maintenance. But the catch is you need the knowledge and the tools to do it. You need a package deal, an over 50, all-in-one anti-aging kit that has everything you need.

And that’s exactly what I’m designing right now. No, it’s not ready yet, but it will be by the end of this year. It’s the Planned Longevity™ Master Toolbox.

I’ll be telling you more about it in future posts, but for now:

The Master Toolbox is designed to give you the knowledge, guidance, and actionable ideas you need to slow your aging and increase your health span.

The Master has four Toolboxes inside:

Diet Toolbox – we all can and should eat better, more healthy food. This is what the Diet Toolbox is about.

Exercise Toolbox – Exercise has been shown to reverse aging markers in skeletal muscle. It is a fundamental cornerstone of longevity.

Supplement Toolbox – Understanding supplement strategies and how they can be useful is an important key to helping us with our anti-aging plans.

Technology Toolbox – Anti-aging and life-extending technologies are available today, and the field is rapidly expanding. This Toolbox keeps you informed of important technological advancements.

These four Toolboxes comprise the Master Toolbox and help you become a master body maintenance mechanic.

Right now:

There is a link to the Master Toolbox in the sidebar of my blog. You can go there anytime and browse. There are already some materials in the various Toolboxes, but I will be adding more – many more.

I’ll be filling these toolboxes throughout the remainder of this year. This Master Toolbox will be open to anyone who wants to peruse it throughout the remainder of this year. After 1/1/2024, however, it will be a member-only planning tool.

Right now, I ask you to explore its contents and my recent posts. There are five of them at the bottom of this page. I hope you will enjoy them and become a member when the Master Toolbox membership option becomes available.

Till then, you’ll have plenty of time to discover the helpful benefits the Master Toolbox gives you.
