Triad 3 is an add-on to your supplement Triads. If you haven’t read about your foundational triad (Triad 1), see it here: FOUNDATION TRIAD. Also, see TRIAD 2.

This article lays out three additional supplements that are foundational and tells you how to take them.

Many of you have been on these supplements for several months and have determined that you have no adverse reactions to Triads 1 and 2. If not, please stay with Triads 1 and 2 until you are comfortable before starting Triad 3.

Every few months, I will suggest an additional Triad of supplements. It is essential to allow your body to adjust to these supplements before moving forward. You need to know that I take these same supplements myself, but this is not a sufficient reason for you to take them.

My advice is to read this post, study my suggestions independently, and make the best decision for yourself.

Supplement Triad 3:

  1. Pomegranate – An excellent antioxidant and agent with many health-promoting properties.
  2. Collagen – Usually in powder form, but also available in capsules – collagen helps build many structures in our bodies and is a valuable protein.
  3. Glucosamine – Chondroitin – MSM combination for joint and connective tissue support.

Pomegranate: (Click for NIH Article)

The pomegranate is an important member of Triad 3. It’s available in several forms, juice, capsules, and powder. I prefer the capsules but also use the powder in my smoothies. I do not use the juice because some of it uses added sugar to hide the sour “bite” of natural pomegranate juice.

If you clicked on the above link, “Pomegranate.” and read just the abstract, you will see that pomegranate has many uses. Here is a quote:

“(Pomegranate) has several health benefits. Pomegranates can help prevent or treat various disease risk factors, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, oxidative stress, hyperglycemia, and inflammatory activities. It is demonstrated that certain components of pomegranate, such as polyphenols, have potential antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticarcinogenic effects.”

If you read the whole article, you might think that pomegranate is a miracle drug. Here is a more reader-friendly article: And if you’re worried about prostate cancer, here’s another: UCLA Health.

Here’s more info:

OK, I could go on, but there’s just no reason not to add pomegranate supplements to your Triad 3 regimen. Here’s where I get mine:

Capsules: Pomegranate Complete

Powder: Navitas Organics Pomegranate Powder

Collagen: (Read Cleveland Clinic Article)

If you read the above article from Cleveland Clinic, you know a lot about collagen. I have been taking collagen for many years. I use a special marine collagen Marine Collagen peptide mix because it assimilates better than most other forms.

Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, Yet most of us don’t get enough. Supplementing with collagen has no downside and ensures that your bones, cartilage, and skin are replenished.

Collagen powder is easy to use; just a scoop a day in your smoothie or a scoop simply mixed with water (it’s relatively tasteless) does the trick for Triad 3 supplementation.

Glucosamine Chondroitin and MSN arthritis-supplements

Generally speaking, the above three supplements for Triad 3 were chosen because they work well for nurturing joints and building cartilage. These are not going to give you overnight success, but with consistent use and over a period of time, you should see some improvements.

These are what I call “long-haul” supplements that can be used along with exercise and stretching to improve damaged and worn-out cartilage. I have used the following product for several years: Glucosamine-Chondroitin-MSM

Summary:

With the foundational supplement (triad 1), Triad 2, and Triad 3, you will be taking the following supplements:

  1. A multi-vitamin.
  2. Omega 3 fish oil.
  3. Vitamins D3 and K2.
  4. Vitamin B12.
  5. Magnesium.
  6. Green tea.
  7. Pomegranate.
  8. Marine Collagen.
  9. Glucosamine Chondroitin and MSN.

Triad 3 adds a powerful antioxidant and two body and joint supplements. You will now be taking 9 supplements daily and will have a fairly complete body-supporting supplement regimen.

Triads 1, 2, and 3 are foundational Triads and form a complete supplement program. Together with a healthy diet, you can stop here and you will have everything you need. There are, however, more Triads to explore and some individual supplements I will highlight for special issues.

Foundational Triads are for healthy biological maintenance. You can stop with these and do very well with your supplement plan. Future Triads will be focused on the anti-aging side of supplementation and take you further into specialty supplementation.

I personally use these supplements myself. They are all non-GMO.

In the future, we will add more options to our supplement Triad collection. Remember to give your body and metabolism time to accommodate these supplements.
